First couple days home!

Monday, September 1, 2008 A Holiday Homecoming!!!

Our babies came home today! After one day short of 4 weeks in hospital, God has done miracles for our babies and we are bringing them home! Sara is 4 pounds 9 ounces, Sophia 4 pounds 3 ounces. They are healthy, and growing ever so quickly!!!

3 weeks tomorrow! Where does the time go...

Well, my baby girls are going to be 3 weeks old tomorrow, and 36 weeks gestation if I was still pregnant. As the doctor said this morning, they are exceptional in how quickly they have overcome little things and major things that they should have been in the womb still to attain. As of today, Sara is 4 pounds 2 ounces, Sophia 3 pounds 15 ounces. They are beautiful, healthy and coming home by the weekend. The breathing episodes are resolving themselves, as we were told would happen as their lungs matured, Sara having her last one 4 days ago, Sophia a couple days. The doctor was confident it is almost completely in the past and is starting the discharge paperwork tomorrow. God has done so much for our little ones, and will continue to do so as they grow. I cannot wait to have them home with us where they belong, and to bring them to church! I myself am looking forward to coming to church again, it has been too long for me!!! Thank God for online sermons!!! LOL! PLEASE KEEP PRAYING FOR US AND OUR FAMILY, WE COVET YOUR PRAYERS!!!

Friday, August 22, 2008...2 weeks and 3 days old!

Well, my girls are on their way home soon! Yea!!! They were upgraded to excellent this morning, and according to Foothills, graduated, and have been transferred to Peter Lougheed, where babies tend to spend a few days to a week or two then sent home. Sara is ready to go home any day, and Sophia still has another week ahead of her, but the hospital is more than happy to keep them together until Sophia is ready. Foothills was not willing to do this and I feel better knowing I don't have to separate them! I am so anxious to bring them home, and together! They have both had all tubes and iv's removed as of today! They are gaining weight every day, and filling out slowly, but look amazing! Sara was so mad today because she didn't get to eat as fast as she wanted and we got to see that temper!!! LOL!

After a brief checkup yesterday, I found out my incision was not infected, thank God, but I am retaining blood underneath which hopefully will disappear soon enough. I feel pretty good and am recovering nicely, thank God! This pumping business can get tiring...sigh...but is fine, as I know my babies are getting what they need.
